| Designed for outdoor installation, the STOV disconnector is a device able to switch electrical circuits ON & OFF in the no-load conditions. It is controlled manually or using an electrical motor. A power-rated contactor possibly included in the device can safely open the circuit without any arcing experienced across the main contacts, even if the system is prone to develop residual currents. Both the devices are made to cooperate through a mechanical link. The STOV disconnectors have had a long history of service the subway (METRO) system operated by the Prague Public Transit Company. |
