Electronic load set
Electronic load set coded EZ2-MA is designed to discharge batteries when testing their capacities. With the test terminated, the measured values are kept in memory and can be uploaded to a PC computer for subsequent processing and plotting the discharge diagrams.
The loading kit consists of EZ2-MA, the control unit, and EZ2, the power units. The units are constructed as plug-in modules of the standard widths - 19" 5U (according to IEC 297-1); the modules are interconnected using cables with error-proof connectors and pairs of copper ribbons used to link the power busbars together. As a standard, the kit is delivered installed in a 19" distribution cabinet with glazed door and perforated back panel. The cables run inside a floor duct enter the cabinet through an opening in the cabinet's bottom. Alternatively, the individual modules can be attached into an installation rack and operated in an arbitrary configuration.
A selector switch available in the control unit can be used to alternate between two permanently connected batteries - this arrangement allows the batteries to be measured without any need for re-connecting the cabinet. The unit can be controlled from ART4000A, a stand-alone control terminal, capable of governing the test in compliance with a preselected program; displaying and archiving the measured values; and configuring all major parameters of the test to be performed. The control unit can be associated with differently sized banks of power units so as to offer the different voltages and discharge currents required for the batteries being tested.
The power units are designed as versatile, able to provide for a wide range of voltages and currents. Their task is to convert electricity into heat as the control unit may command.
The cooling air is sucked in through lateral grids and when heated up by the cooling action it is fanned out of the unit through the perforated back panel. Each unit is fitted with its own protection device and an inbuilt regulator capable of limiting the power, extending fault signals and providing thermal protection.
